What You Are Actually Buying

Short version above. Here is the long one, including the parts most study sites leave out.

Built by someone who teaches this for a living

This platform is built and maintained by Mario Hernandez, a collision repair instructor at Sheridan Technical College in Florida and an ASE certified technician who has worked in the trade and now trains people entering it.

That matters in a specific way. Every question, key term and lesson here has been in front of real students in a real classroom, and the ones that confused people got rewritten. A question bank assembled by writers who have never mixed a batch of filler or set up a spray gun reads differently, and technicians notice within about ten questions.

It also means the material tracks what shops are actually doing now, because the person maintaining it is standing in a shop and a classroom every week.

The simulator models the real exam, not just the subject

Plenty of sites give you questions. The gap most students fall into is that they have never sat the format, so the first twenty minutes of the real test is spent learning the interface instead of answering.

The simulator here reproduces the structure of the real thing:

  • The blueprint. ASE publishes how many scored questions come from each content area. A full length practice exam here draws to those proportions rather than dealing you a random pile, so a weak area shows up in the same weight it will on test day.
  • Unscored questions. The real exam includes trial questions that do not count. Our full length exams include them too, because the real one does and because it changes how the time feels.
  • The clock. Each module runs at its real question count and real time limit, so you learn your actual pace rather than a made up one.
  • The question styles. Direct questions, Technician A and Technician B, and EXCEPT questions all behave the way they do on the exam, including the fixed answer order that Technician A and B questions always use.
  • The tools. Flagging for review, a question navigator, and a glossary you can open mid test, so nothing on exam day is a surprise.

It tells you where you actually stand

Answering questions is the easy part. Knowing whether you are ready is the part that decides whether you book the test.

Your results are tracked per content area, not just as one overall score, because a 78 percent overall can hide a 45 percent in one area that is about to fail you. From that the platform builds targeted drills on your weakest areas, tracks how many of the bank you have actually seen so you cannot mistake luck for coverage, and gives a readiness figure that combines accuracy with how much ground you have covered.

Every question you get wrong comes with an explanation of why the right answer is right, which is the part that turns a practice test into studying rather than guessing.

More than a question bank

Questions alone teach recognition, not understanding. Alongside the simulator you get flashcards with several study modes and mastery tracking that follows your account across devices, a searchable collision glossary, and the official ASE task lists for every B-Series module with a plain English explanation of what each task actually means.

There are also free tools on this site that anyone can use without an account, including a PPE selector, a shop setup planner, a directory of OEM repair information and manufacturer training, and a data sheet library. Those exist because the trade needs them, not as a funnel.

Maintained, not published once

Collision repair moves. Advanced driver assistance systems, high voltage vehicles, new substrates and new joining methods have all changed what the exams ask within the last few years. A study product that was written once and left alone starts teaching the wrong thing quietly.

The question bank here is audited on an ongoing basis, corrections get made when a student reports one, and there is a report button on every question for exactly that reason. When a fact turns out to be wrong or a procedure has been superseded, it gets fixed and the fix reaches everyone immediately.

What this is not

Worth being straight about, because trust matters more than a sale.

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. ASE is their registered trademark. Nobody outside ASE has the real questions, and any site claiming to sell them is selling you something else.

Passing here does not certify you. It prepares you. You still register with ASE, still sit the exam at a testing center, and still need documented work experience before certification is issued. What this removes is the part where you walk in without knowing the format, without knowing your weak areas and without knowing your pace.

The honest pitch: most people who fail a B-Series exam did not fail on knowledge. They failed on pace, on unfamiliar question wording, or on one content area they never checked. Everything above is aimed at those three things.
