Brand-Safe Patch Mockups
Same fun-to-collect feel as the current patches — redesigned to use your own brand identity instead of ASE's protected marks. No gear logos, no "ASE Certified" wording, no visual confusion with the real certification credentials.
Design Direction
- Shape: hexagon / shield instead of the ASE circular gear
- Color palette: your site's blue + orange + tier-specific metallics (bronze → silver → gold → platinum → rainbow)
- Brand text reads "ASECOLLISIONTESTPREP.COM" — clearly your site, not ASE
- Icons are practice/study themed: book, target, trophy, stars, crown — not the automotive gear
- Language: "Practice Rookie," "Drill Pro," "Champion" — clearly study achievements, never "Certified"
Tier 1: Practice Achievement Patches
Five collectable tiers that students unlock as they progress through your simulator. Each tier represents a study milestone (NOT a certification). Each card is a single inline SVG below — no image files needed.
Tier 1 · Bronze
Practice Rookie
Complete your first practice test
Tier 2 · Silver
Drill Pro
Hit 80%+ on a weakness drill
Tier 3 · Gold
Section Champion
Pass a Section Cert Exam at 90%+
Tier 4 · Platinum
B-Series Achiever
Score 80%+ on all 5 modules
Tier 5 · Ultimate
Ultimate Studier
All 5 modules at 90%+ & 1000 questions
Tier 2: Module-Specific Achievement Patches (Mini Series)
Smaller collectable patches earned per module (B2, B3, B4, B5, B6). Designed to coexist with the main 5-tier patches above. Different shape so they don't visually compete.
B2 Mastered
Score 85%+ on a B2 full sim
B3 Mastered
Score 85%+ on a B3 full sim
B4 Mastered
Score 85%+ on a B4 full sim
B5 Mastered
Score 85%+ on a B5 full sim
B6 Mastered
Score 85%+ on a B6 full sim
Why These Are Brand-Safe
- No blue ASE gear logo — replaced with shields, hexagons, and diamonds
- No use of the letters "ASE" as a standalone trademark (only in the URL "asecollisiontestprep.com" which is your registered domain)
- No use of "CERTIFIED" — replaced with achievement language like "Rookie," "Pro," "Champion," "Achiever," "Ultimate," "Mastered"
- Color palette doesn't mimic ASE's blue/silver — uses metallic tiers (bronze/silver/gold/platinum) plus your brand orange/blue accents
- Patch shape: shield / hexagon / diamond / octagon — never the circular gear-style of an ASE patch
- Banner text clearly reads as study/practice achievements, not professional certifications
This design is far less likely to cause consumer confusion or trigger trademark enforcement than designs using the ASE gear logo or "Certified" wording.
What Comes Next
If you like this direction, here's how we'd roll it out:
- Pick the patches you like — keep all 10, or trim the list. We can also iterate on icons/colors/names.
- Export to PNG/SVG for use as static images (the SVG is already there inline — we just save it to disk as
/images/patches/rookie.svg, etc.). - Replace the current patch images on index.html, dashboard.html, and b6.html with these new ones.
- Update the trigger logic on dashboard.html so students earn these by hitting specific score thresholds (instead of just clicking "I Passed!" for ASE certs).
- Keep the disclaimers on any page that still mentions ASE as a reference for the real-world certifications students are preparing for.
One legal note: Even with safe patches, your site uses "ASE" in factual descriptions ("Practice tests for the ASE B-Series") — that's allowed under nominative fair use. The risky pattern was visually replicating the official ASE patches, which is what this redesign solves.
